Community service for teens is often a requirement for graduating high school and it's a great way for students to build their resumes and skill sets. More important, volunteer work for high school students can be a life-changing experience, one that allows teens to expand their horizons and foster meaningful relationships.

Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 21 with paid summer employment for up to six weeks in July and August. Participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs in the nonprofit and private sectors. SYEP prepares youth for the workplace with workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy and opportunities to continue education and social growth.
